Together with the whole members of our family, Pinoy Family Man would like to wish every one a blessed Christmas!

Let us all bear in mind that Christmas is the season of the year wherein the spirit of love and sharing is more expressed. Let us give without expecting anything in return. May everyone of us experience the joy of giving generously and feel the blessing that comes with sharing.

Our family's Christmas wish for everyone is to find the true meaning of the celebration and enjoy the season with the whole family.

Merry Christmas once again!

Pick Your Packaging Materials Right for a Pristine Package Delivery

Got a fantastic piece of electronic kit? An antique vase? A priceless piece of memorabilia? Yep - me too. Okay, not the vase...

We all own items of deeply sentimental or high monetary value, which is precisely why we're careful with them when moving them from one place to another. You wouldn't' throw your granddad's pocket watch across the kitchen for someone else to enjoy, just as much as you wouldn't shake about a child's games console to see what's wrong with it.

No matter whether you're handling something which is 100 years old or one day old, we're all very precious about the things we - and hopefully others - own. It's exactly for this reason that we should take just as much care when packaging, storing and mailing items.

While it might be easy to find a box, plastic tub, newspaper or bag to wrap our treasures in, it's more rare that we take the time to properly pad them out and protect them from bumps, sudden shocks, drops and shakes.

This is why you should know your packaging supplies and materials inside and out.

Structural protection

Before you launch right in and pack your container full of bubble wrap - or another similar kind of packaging - first ask yourself if you've really got the right box, bag or container for the job.

If you're going with a square box, then great, you're in luck. Square and rectangular storage boxes lend themselves to being supported on all sides of the structure. Importantly though, your corners should also be protected. You may also think about buying jiffy padded bags for extra protection.

What Retirement Options Are There for Those Looking to Downsize?

There are a number of retirement options available, many of which are aimed at those that wish to downsize. This can release capital which can be spent in whatever way you choose but those considering this action need to give it sufficient thought before agreeing to anything.

Why choose to downsize?

If you reside in a rather large house, complete with several unused rooms, you may want to think about moving into a building of a smaller nature. A smaller place can be more comfortable, easier to heat, and all round better suited to your needs.

Choosing where to live

Those that wish to keep their independence, yet still wish for a little help every now and may want to look into a retirement apartment. Many of these provide assisted living services which provide support and care should you need it, but with all the independence of regular housing.

Saddened by Pacquiao's Defeat to Marquez

Among the few things that can make the Family Man stay at home during Sundays is going to church and of course every time Manny Pacquiao fights in the ring. We do not have a cable at home but we are thankful  for the generous neighbor who never fails to subscribe to PPV every time Pacquiao  has a fight. The Pacquiao fight is definitely a reunion among the Waterlily neighborhood. Thank you Tommy and Ate Claire :)

The energy of all the people in the room were so high since the beginning of the fight  but after Pacquiao was knocked out on the 6th round, everyone vanished in silence including our beloved Barangay Captain. As Filipinos, of course most of us are saddened by Pacquiao's loss to Marquez. The defeat came as a shocked because for so many years in the ring, this is the only time Pacquiao was KO and hit so hard. I am just thankful that Manny recovered after a few minutes.
