Things To Remember to Avoid Electrical Fires

Human error and electrical faults are the usual causes that start fire. This situation can easily be avoided if we just take time to learn and execute the proper precaution. A report by the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ISFI) states that 55,000 fires in a year were caused by electrical problems. These fires result to costly damages to property, various injuries and death. Knowing the causes and precautions to avoid accidental electrical fire will surely will help lessen the number of fire and save lives and properties.

Fixed wiring, bad electrical sockets and old wiring are the usual reasons of electrical fires. These problems are electrical faults and can easily be remedied especially if you are in Mississauga. Hiring somebody from mississauga electrical contractor particularly a professional electrician to check, fix and maintain your wirings and sockets – will help this problem. The electrician mississauga have the expertise and skills to properly attach and fix electrical wirings and sockets in your household.

Carelessness in using machines, laziness in turning off the appliances, and using electrical cords and overloading circuits recklessly are human errors that causes electrical fire. The only way to solve these errors is by disciplining ourselves. Use the machines and appliances inside the house carefully. Always turn off and unplug the appliances after using. Creating a safe environment inside the home should be our primary concern.

4 Ways to Tell It's Time to Buy a New Fridge-Freezer

Is it time to bid farewell to that old fridge-freezer? Just because your fridge still works doesn't mean you can't benefit from a new one.

If you're dealing with any of these four problems, it's time to start looking for a new one:

1. You're Spending Too Much On Your Utility Bills

Older refrigerators can do a number on your energy bills. And, the older your fridge-freezer gets, the weaker its insulation is going to get -- meaning it will have to work even harder to keep everything cold.

The only way to lower your bills is to take advantage of new technology. For example, some fridges use less than 450 kWh per year. On top of that, they come with electronic settings -- instead of the traditional dials -- so that you can make more precise temperature changes.

2. Your Keep Chiseling Away At Ice Build-Ups

If you're finding ice anywhere but in your ice maker, that's a bad sign. Specifically, it's proof that your fridge-freezer has sprung a leak somewhere. As a result, water is dripping out and freezing up.

Instead of trying to fix it yourself -- or paying someone to fix it for you -- it can be a whole lot easier and a whole lot more cost-effective to just start over with a new appliance.

3. You Are Struggling To Shut It

When refrigerators become harder to close, it usually means that something has gone wrong with the seals on their doors. And when your fridge-freezer isn't sealing properly, it's going to have a much harder time keeping everything inside cool and fresh.

Practical and Trendy Outdoor Lighting Tips

Apart from having good furniture, garden, and patio floor, you need to invest in good outdoor lighting. Colored bulbs, accent lights, and other customized lights will bring an entirely new appearance to your outdoor environment. With good lighting, you can convert your patio into a pleasant venue for dates, a few relaxed moments with your friends, or just a place where you recollect the day's event in a cool undisturbed atmosphere.

To help you improve your outdoor lighting, we will point you to the most recent trends in outdoor lighting, as well as provide practical tips to light your outdoors.

 Lighting Colors

Most probably, you want to have a certain theme that will go well with the lighting. For instance, if you were after a traditional theme, you wouldn't need flashing lights or lights with very bright colors. Besides, having so many lights wouldn't be appropriate since traditionally people used flames and candles.

On the other hand, a homeowner who opts for contemporary theme on their deck would look for multicolored or very bright lights that match well with their furniture. Blue lights are a popular trend but that does not necessarily mean that one is limited to only one option. Other colors to choose from include green, orange, pink or purple depending on your preference.

The purpose of the deck will also guide you towards the most appropriate color. For instance, one with a romantic theme in their plans will probably select yellow lights or maybe replace the bulbs with candles.

Music Jamming With Louie

Last September 2012, our family had the opportunity to accommodate one of my closest friends and her family in our humble home. Ma’am Joy, her husband Louie and their cute little girl came home to Digos to visit their family. They have to catch their flight to Palawan the next day that is why they decided to stay with us in Davao City for a little catching up and bonding moment.

It was Bren and Louie’s first meeting. I am glad that they easily get comfortable with each other for they have something in common – their love for music. Louie plays guitar remarkably and so does Bren. Since we have an extra guitar at home (a friend left it to Bren for safekeeping) Bren invited Louie to have a music jamming session. And of course, the session will not be as enjoyable without a few shots of their favorite rhum. You know, men.... :( :(

And the jamming session became more fun and lively as they sing the night away with the rest of us joining them.  It was such a fun night with Louie and Ma'am Joy. Bong (Joy's younger brother) was also there to join us for dinner. He brought with him few pieces of Durian which we happily shared with each other. Hehehe

I hope we can get to do another bonding time in the next days to come. Wishing and praying that it is going to be in Palawan with my whole family too.

Sisterakas: Our First Movie Date in 2013

Watching movies has always been our bonding time since hubby and I were still sweethearts but that has become a luxury since we got married in 2008. Aside from the fact that we are both busy with our respective careers, I also do not want to spend for "dates" especially that I am the one holding the family's budget. But on the first week of January, I surprised Bren when I asked him for a movie date. LOL. We wanted to watch Sisterakas and/or One More Try but finally decided to watch Sisterakas after a series of discussion.

Photo Not Mine

Bren is never fond of Filipino movies since he said that the stories most especially the endings are very predictable and not mentally challenging for him. He usually likes watching war films, actions movies, anime and that kind of stuff. The total opposite of what I actually like, you know women.LOL
