Practical Marketing Strategies for your Business

If you're constructing a marketing strategy, you've probably already heard the classics like "create a memorable logo" and "join social media." What if you're looking for something a little different? Something fresh and outside-of-the-box to really get your brand out there?

Here are five ways to advertise that you might not have been taught in business school.

1: Offer Freebies

Everyone loves swag, so the next time your city hosts a marathon or parade, make sure you're on the sidewalk passing around balloons, water bottles and goodie bags emblazoned with your company name.

2: Hire A Waver

Find a youngster with a free afternoon and pay them minimum wage to stand outside your business and attract attention. They don't even need a costume, just their natural exuberance.

3: Sponsor Something Local

Does the t-ball team need uniforms? Order a dozen with your name on the back. Is a local coffee shop in desperate need of a new paint job? Offer to foot the bill in exchange for permanent space on their billboard.

4: Invest In Bumper Stickers

When you're stuck behind a car in rush hour traffic, you'll definitely remember the bumper sticker you stared at for two hours. Take advantage of all those grumpy commuters by exposing them to your brand.
