Facets of Vacuum Trucks

What is vacuum truck?

Vacuum trucks are those vehicles that contain a storage container and suction motor mounted on truck chassis. These vehicles pump out anything from residential septic tank to contaminated soil. They are differentiated capacity, weight and design to pump out wet or dry materials. This vehicle cleans up industrial waste but also perform waste removal for municipalities such as street sweeping and sewer cleanup. Generally these vehicles are built on heavy chassis, though slide-in units exist that can be installed in a truck bed or on a trailer.

Utility of vacuum truck

Generally these vehicles have three myriads uses- suctioning, transportation and disposal.

Suctioning of materials- These vehicles were specially designed to vacuum dry or wet toxic and non toxic materials. The velocity of the suctioning can be high or low. The high velocity suctioning is preferred for removing solid, liquid, and scum or sludge materials. The low velocity suction is basically used for removing oil spills, brine water and also for cleaning up sewers, catch basins, septic tanks and clogged drainage systems.

Transporting material- Most importantly these vehicles are eco friendly responsible for the removal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. These trucks enable transportation of bio solids because of their spill prevention and odor control abilities that help prevent the exposure of the public to the hazards involved by the transportation of these materials.

Disposal material- Hazardous waste product put the public at health risk. According to the EPA, in order to manage hazardous waste, these trucks play an active role for the disposal of these hazardous materials. They are really very effective in dumping the waste materials to the treatment site safely to minimize environmental pollution.

Tank size- The size of the tank depends on the size of the truck and the vacuum system. They can be created according to the preference and business needs. Generally it takes approximately six months to create a tank. However time depends on the size and capacity of the tank. There are standard sizes in the market that can be mounted to a truck and are suitable for a specific vacuum pump system.

Efficiency

The bigger trucks are not suitable for all purpose, but they can definitely outperform with the more difficult ones. These super heavy vehicles are ideal for handling jobs such as: gray water and waste material removal from coal mining sites; large septic contracts with portable septic pumping on mine or constructions job sites and other out of the way areas; and waste sludge removal from mine sites with water treatment facilities. These standards vehicles are perfect for performing all these tasks. These standard vehicles are really useable and reliable for such jobs.

With the development and modernization of these trucks in service today, cleaning is done safely and efficiently.
